Would you like to make a bet, which one gets the fishes? -Chinese Rhyme The Drive: On the Internet, as in life, you must stay motivated. As soon as you start your venture online, there will be many who will tell you why it won't work. I know, I've been there. Don't let that stop you. Look around, what are those people doing? Have they ever done anything other than go to work, pay their bills and go back to work the next day? You want better, stay motivated. How? That is a personal question. You can find motivation in knowledge, spend an hour a day on self improvement. Listening to tapes and reading motivational books seems to work for well many. You must find what motivates you. Money, freedom, excitement, religion, or sense of accomplishment. One thing is true, sitting there and wishing your business (or life) was better, won't get the job done, you must get up and do something! The Knowledge: Knowing what to do and how to do it. There are countless guides online on how to do everything you need to do to get your business going, from getting a product to accepting credit cards on your website. My aim is to give you a start and show you were to find the right information. One thing to keep in mind-there are many FREE resources in the way of newsletters, articles, free trails, demo versions of e-books and software, and even audio files that can teach you alot about doing business on and off the Internet. There are also many excellent courses available for purchase. I encourage you to invest in your business education. You wouldn't bake a cake without the right tools and a good recipe...why would you want to start your online business any other way? There are several excellent courses online that will teach you REAL information with REAL honest, verifiable samples. Cory Rudl's Course is the #1 seller on the Internet. Click here to visit his site, I've learned alot from him. His course includes everything you need to know what to do and how to do it in one spot. Another great series of courses are written by Ken Envoy, he breaks up his knowledge into several courses so you can buy the section that you need only. Both are excellent and give you great perspectives. I recommend you try to learn from as many experts as you can find, you can learn alot by having several different teachers.
The Product: If you already have your own product or service you want to market online, that is GREAT! You have a good start. If you don't have a product yet, don't worry, there are thousands of companies online looking for affiliates. You can market their products and get a commission. Or better yet, you can create your own product by writting your own e-book. A content based website: This phrase is repeated countless times on the internet. That is because the web is content based. If you are selling or promoting anything, placing the equivalent of a brochure online, will not do the job for you. Your site must have real content and valuable information. To learn more about how to set up your very own website read our Your Own Website article or Click here to download a FREE tial version of "Make Your Site Sell" a great resource on building the ultimate website. Stay in touch: Staying in touch with your website visitors is an essential part of building your internet business. The 80/20 rule is true online as it is in the real world. The rule is that 20% of your customers account for 80% of your sales. The key is to stay in touch with your customers. You start with making sure you always ask for your visitors' email address and permission to email them periodically. Then you can use a weekly/monthly newsletter, special sales/offers announcements, new product/service announcements...etc to stay in touch with them. This will turn visitors into customers, and customers into repeat buyers. |
